In 2019, LADOT installed 100 Rainbow Halos around the City of Los Angeles at the sites of these tragedies. Representing DJs, producers, dancers, clubgoers and general fans of the music alike, our goal is to foster an inclusive, safe, and thoughtful approach to promoting shows and parties and supporting the local creative community. Similar to Josh and the goal of NALM, Hector provides opportunities for new and unknown artists to release their material though his label. Hector had multiple producers release their first official record with him in 2021, making their music available across all platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Beatport, and Traxsource. Josh believed fervently that all musicians, irrespective of resources should be able to share their music with the world. Through Josh's selfless act, several critically ill individuals were given the gift of life. On Thursday, February 11, surrounded by the extraordinary love from his parents Lori and Stephen, his sister Jessica, his aunts and uncles, and prayers from a loving global loving community of family and friends, he passed on to eternal life. His ear for melody and rhythm was exceptional and his life continued in the music realm. He played the clarinet and saxophone and ultimately found his love for percussion, for drumming, for the beats that gave music such energy and foundation. Over a time of endless curiosity and experimentation, Josh realized that production and DJ performance was his true calling. House beats, rhythms, and sounds from an already rich library of life experience informed Josh’s work, giving it palpable life and soul. Most impressive were his humility, kindness and thoughtfulness. Josh was always concerned with the community. He was an agent of change for good, and very firm in his beliefs and convictions. Josh accomplished so very much in just 27 years and would have been able to touch so many more lives.
